Who doesn't know this: stress. Stress in the family, stress in the relationship, stress at work, stress with colleagues or the boss, stress due to financial worries.
But how do you find a way out? There are many solutions, but as individual as each of us is, there is no standard that fits everyone.
Nevertheless, I would like to give you a few thoughts to help you reduce your personal stress level and, if possible, even avoid it. It's important to first recognise what actually triggers my stress and how I react in these situations.
Please first ask yourself the following questions:
In which situations do I feel stressed? Please think about all areas of your life: family, friends, job, finances, leisure, sports...
What do I feel when I'm stressed? Do I feel something in my stomach? Do I get a headache? Am I sleeping badly? Is my concentration suffering?
How do I react when I'm stressed? Do I get impatient? Moody? Do I feel like crying?
The goal now is to pay attention to the physical symptoms as early as possible in order to be able to counteract a stress reaction at the beginning. This probably won't work the first time, but with a little practice and patience you will quickly be able to filter out your stressors.
Once this step has been taken, it is important to find out the so-called personal resources. What does that mean?
Every person has certain reserves, situations, objects or experiences from which they can draw strength.
Now please ask yourself the following questions:
Are there any rituals or activities that relax me? How can I incorporate these into my everyday life?
If I'm feeling bad, what can I do to get better? Do I do sports? Am I reading a book? Do I take a deep breath? Am I distracting myself?
Also ask yourself: Are there people who give me strength or support me? Has a situation like this ever happened before and how did I resolve it?
All of these are resources that you can draw on in stressful situations. Not every resource fits every stressor, but if you deal with it intensively, you will soon find the right “combinations” to make your life less stressful and more relaxed!
